Since before I can remember I have been taking things apart and wondering how they worked, intrigued by what makes a toy tick or a button click. At a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be an engineer, and design great things. Because of this endless passion for design and engineering, I entered the Plano Academy. The Plano academy is a Project Based Learning, and STEAM school with a very heavy emphasis on Engineering. Where every day I am challenged in a realistic work environment. Aside from learning about the engineering process and designing solutions. I also get to build them. I have access to the Fabrication Laboratory or Fab Lab for short. In the Fab Lab, there are all the tools and materials for any project, but the best thing is, I know how to use each and every tool spanning from a drill and driver all the way to any type of welder or an Oxy Propylene torch. Often when there is a problem with a tool or project I am the person people seek out for help. The other day I was in class when one of the counselors pulled me out and asked me to head down to the Fab Lab. They needed help determining a problem with the ducts and an extractor fan so that the Contractors could fix it. The school came to me for help before they even mentioned it to any of the four engineering Teachers. Through my school, I also had the opportunity to join my Robotics team where I have become the Head welder and metal worker. I am proficient with TIG, MIG, and Stick welding on Aluminum, and steel and I have welded copper. This year there are about ten freshmen who have taken an interest in welding, but the responsibility falls on me and only me to teach them. Apart from welding, I am in charge of teaching people how to use the Mill and Lathe. As well

Apart from welding, I am in charge of teaching people how to use the Mill and Lathe. As well as maintaining them along with our CNC machines. It may seem like I already have a really full plate at this point, but I still balance my school and club life with other activities. I am a Life Rank Scout in Troop 219 and only a few months from Becoming an Eagle Scout. Last year I did the Plano Youth Leadership Course and learned a lot about becoming an effective leader in both our community and as a team. I did Nine years of Martial arts and self-defense classes, reaching Blackbelt before the school closed. To keep myself fit I regularly mountain bike, swim, and go hiking. One of my favorite things to do now is ride horseback. Being an Engineer has been a goal of mine for a very long time, And working alongside NASA has been even more of a challenge to attain. It would be a life-changing moment for me to be accepted into the HAS Program. Thank You for your consideration.
