Using the same scenario from Part 1 of this assignment, complete the ethical dilemma analysis. It is very important that you review the rubric for this assignment so you understand the expectations. The rubric for this assignment can be found here.
1. Tentatively identify all possible courses of action and the participants involved in each, along with possible benefits and risks for each – This section was completed in Part 1 of this paper. However, if you were not very thorough in this section, it will affect your grade for Part 2 of this paper. Consequently, you have the opportunity to either copy and paste this section of Part1 or make necessary changes so that Part 2 of this assignment is thorough. For example, if you overlooked an obvious course of action in this step in Part 1, it will ultimately affect your decision (and your grade).
2. Thoroughly examine the reasons in favor of an opposed to each possible courses of action, considering relevant ethical theories (apply ethical theories such as consequentialism, deontology, and/or ethics of care to analyze the ethical issues involved in the dilemma. Discuss how each theory would approach the situation and evaluate its consequences. Don’t just give me an overview of how the theory works- apply it to this ethical dilemma.), codes of ethics and legal principles, social work practice theory and principles, social work professional values and personal values. This section should demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of concepts, terms, and theories that we have discussed throughout the semester.
3. Consult with colleagues and appropriate experts (feel free to discuss this with each other, other instructors, social workers, attorneys, or any other relevant individuals)
4. Make the decision and document the decision making process. For this section, tell me what you would do and provide an example of how you would document both the consultation and the decision in the client’s record. I understand that you may not have had much practice in social work documentation. Do your best.
5. Monitor, evaluate and document the decision. Describe how you would monitor and evaluate the decision.
