Write a 3-4 page paper using the following format:
Section 1 – List and discuss in detail at least 3 things related to diversity and young children that you learned from this class.
-This should not be a repeat of other papers, but rather a reflection of what you think were major “ahas” for you personally. This requires critical thinking and analysis.
Section 2 – Describe your thinking about diversity, inclusion, culture, and tolerance before you took this class (HINT: Check the student introduction board to see what you posted!). Then describe your current thinking and how it might have been influenced by information in the course. Include at least three examples of how your thinking has changed. Make comparisons between your thinking before and after taking the course and discuss the two perspectives.
Section 3 – Describe how you think you might use the new information in your work with children or families.
-This could include your own children as well as children from your professional life. How can you apply what you have learned in this class to your relationships with young children and families? If you are not a teacher, think about this in relation to your field or desired profession. What contact will you have with diverse populations and how can you use information from this class to help you be more tolerant, respectful, and effective in interactions, etc.? Be sure you write in some detail about this!
