The day-to-day manager, who may also be referred to as the functional manager of the organization, is the person who is in charge of making choices regarding what is most beneficial for a particular department or group inside the firm. It involves dealing with problems as they crop up and concentrating on reaching the conclusion that will be most beneficial to the company as a whole while inflicting the least amount of harm or causing the least amount of emotional anguish (Knight et al., 2020). On the other hand, strategic management is concerned with the wider picture; it examines the company as a whole, assessing the business strategies and operations to determine how they might be molded to facilitate the expansion and development of the organization in the years to come. Management on a day-to-day basis and management focused on the long-term strategy need to collaborate for the business to function well.

The strategic management process is an ongoing and unending procedure by which a corporation determines its business objectives and other goals to maintain an advantage over rival businesses. Creating a plan for reaching customers is an activity that is typical of strategic management (Knight et al., 2020). Hello Fresh, a company established in the United States, uses a novel marketing technique by providing consumers with pre-measured, fresh produce and other ingredients delivered straight to their doors.

The day-to-day management comprises mainly of day-to-day tasks that are essential to the operation of the firm. One example of a process that is managed on a day-to-day basis is customer support and after-sales service. To illustrate, companies that deliver food, such as FoodPanda, GrabFood, and DoorDash, have excellent customer service and after-sales service (Knight et al., 2020). This is because there are delegates or agents on-line that clients can talk to right after their food is received, either to leave comments to the restaurant they purchased from, to give feedback to the delivery person, or to ask for refunds for undelivered items or wrong orders. This service is done daily to ensure that the business continues to function correctly.
