The first video outlines the Institutional Review Boards function in human research, as well as the values that underlie it. The three pillars, namely the necessity for free and informed consent, the advantages for risk analysis, and the participants ability to withdraw, have established the foundation for codes of ethics (Johns Hopkins Medicine, 2015). All of these elements are designed to preserve the rights of human study participants.

While all three of the IRBs guiding principles are vital, respect for individuals is the most important. It entails acknowledging that everyone has the right and capability to make their own choices (Johns Hopkins Medicine, 2015). Moreover, protecting their privacy and keeping their information secret, and withdrawing without consequence is equally essential.

Caring Corruption is about nurses who took part in the Holocaust. It sheds a harsh light on the nurses who, under the orders of the Third Reich, utilized their profession to murder the disabled, mentally sick, and infirm and were therefore directly complicit in the different atrocities.

The point of the film is that instead of alleviating the pain and disobeying unethical commands, nurses have abandoned their professional responsibilities. They were using their abilities and qualifications to injure prisoners of war and war victims (Cizik School of Nursing, 2017). This film shows that because of the crimes committed during Nazi times, the protection of human subjects in research is an important topic.

The Research Ethics involving Human Subjects video gives an overview of research ethics in the United States. The Nuremberg Code and the National Research Law of 1974 were considered (Delton Daigle, 2014). The National Human Rights Commission was entrusted with establishing the ethical guidelines that guide the conduct of human-participation research.

The creation of the Belmont Report, a founding document for the ethics of human experimentation in the United States, is the videos most essential feature. It lays forth three fundamental concepts respect for others, beneficence, and justice and how they are applied (Delton Daigle, 2014).

The video titled The Belmont Report (Part One: Basic Ethical Principles) presented three ethical principles that the Belmont Report adheres to. They became the foundation for the following research designs and studies (Irbmed, 2011). It includes such principles and beneficence, respect for person, and justice.

The second part of this video, The Belmont Report (Part Two: Applying the Principles), analyzes the application of the principles. For the beneficence principle, the method of application is the constant assessment of advantages and disadvantages (Irbmed, 2011). This implies that the nature and scope of the risks and rewards should be evaluated methodically, while for justice, it is the proper selection of subjects.

The most crucial principle of application here and the main point of the parts of the video, I think, is the principle of informed consent and its application. According to it, the research subject can decide whether he should or should not participate in the study. This principle reflects the freedom of choice and respect for human beings the most.
