Opening statement: HIV/AIDS spread in African countries is much higher than in other developing countries in the world, however, the number of infected people can be reduced.

Background to the study: HIV/AIDS has become one of the most urgent problems in the whole world. Considering the statistical information, about 350,000 people in Africa were infected with HIV in 2008. This number includes 30,000 of newly infected, 4600 of newly infected children, and about 20,000 of death cases (AIDS epidemic update, 2009, p. 70). These numbers are approximate as there are a lot of tribes in Africa whose health condition is not followed at all. The developed countries try to battle the problem of HIV/AIDS infection in their not only countries, but also help African people cope with the disaster. The research conducted by Takyi (2001) shows that the awareness of people about HIV/AIDS increases their risk-assessment and makes those use the preventive measures. Better economic situation in the county may also influence the rate of HIV/AIDS in Africa. The level of HIV/AIDS infected people in African countries is extremely high due to two main reasons which are interconnected with each other. The relation between the variables can be easily proved by means of considering the situation in two regions in Africa which economical situation is different. The information awareness of the population can be measured as well. These two variables are going to influence the reduction of the HIV/AIDS infection positively.

  • Problem statement: The level of newly HIV/AIDS infected people is too high in the African countries
  • Purpose of the study: The main purpose of this study is to prove that economical situations and the level population awareness of HIV/AIDS danger can influence the rate of human infection.

Research question(s) and hypotheses and variables:

  • Can HIV/AIDS be controlled by means of population informing?
  • Can HIV/AIDS rate be reduced by means of the improving countrys wellbeing?

Hypothesis 1: The rate of the infected people with HIV/AIDS (dependant variable) in the world can be significantly reduced by means of the improving economical situation and the level of life (controlled variable) in the African countries (independent variable).

Hypothesis 2: The number of infected people with HIV/AIDS (dependant variable) can be significantly reduced by means of increasing the information awareness (controlled variable) of the African population (independent variable).

Theoretical framework: Testing these two hypothesis, the research is going to be conducted within two regions independent from each other. The statistical information should be considered before and after the experiment conduction. It is important to measure the economical situation in those two countries and implement retrospective ecological comparison and trend analysis to measure the level of health services in the regions (Parkhurst, 2010). The level of HIV/AIDS in African countries is extremely high. The research shows that the level of information awareness among the population is rather low. The prediction that the level of people newly infected with HIV/AIDS can be reduced by means of increasing the level of living and population awareness of the problem is natural. This research is going to help understand the reasons for the high level of infected people in Africa and make sure that the same reasons are not going to cause problems in other countries.
