Introduction

Spotify is a digital music streaming service that gives access to millions of songs or podcasts and even videos from artists worldwide, as well as Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited. Spotify offers the legal ability to listen to tracks online from a huge music catalog that contains tons of albums that are not available on other platforms. The idea for Spotify began with the hypothesis that people could stop piracy by making it easier for them to access music legally.

The Influence of History on Brand Success

In the first six months after its launch, Spotify gained more than 1 million users. In the fall of 2009, a mobile application for iOS and Android was released, ensuring further popularity growth. The main advantage of Spotify is the music selection algorithms, which almost perfectly adapt to listeners tastes (Roy, 2020). If one enables the Non-stop Music function in the settings, similar tracks will automatically play at the end of the playlist (About Spotify, 2022). As an advantage, often, one can find something new for oneself.

Another component of success is well-thought-out interface solutions and a developed system of recommendations. An important role in the quality of service is played by the great involvement of the creators in developing and promoting the brand. For the sake of a new project, Lorentzon, one of the founders of Spotify, stepped down as CEO of Tradedoubler (Sun, 2018). At the initial stage, he rejected the proposals of all potential investors because he was not satisfied with their conditions he took over the expenses of the new company, including the salary of programmers and office rent.

Conclusion

Musicians receive well-deserved money for the distribution of their work. There is no question of any misuse of intellectual property. The founders of Spotify, in this way, stimulate the music industry and help it develop. In addition, the brand satisfies the needs of users who can listen to hundreds of millions of songs for a modest fee or even for free.
