Socrates was one of the first Western philosophers whose thoughts and ideas were recognized around the globe. He left no definite philosophy, and most of his works were based on his followers retelling, like Plato or Xenophon. He believed that reasonable people would hardly harm themselves and support the possibility of will weakness (Soccio, 2016). The Socratic method included the identification of education as the intention to find out the truth rather than just educate and fill empty vessels (Soccio, 2016). Socrates sought to show how philosophy was effective in understanding human life and introduced himself as the physician of the soul. Instead of striving for luxury and extravagance, it is normal to have no wants and enjoy the divine as something supreme. Knowledge is more important than goods and money, and if a person is wise, it is enough to have happy and satisfied life.
