Introduction
We are in an age of information where almost everything is probable and available. However, the question of the relationship between science and real life remains unanswered. There has been a significant growth in technological development, which has promoted scientific creations and exploration (Epel et al., 2019). Several years ago, people never compared the association between science and real life because technology had not developed as it is now. Currently, scientific know-how has become our routine, and humans lives revolve around science. This essay discusses the significant relationship between science and real life.
Identification of Technology and Effects on My life
Technology is the result of the conversion of scientific know-how into real-life use. Personally, there are various types of technology I consider essential for the smooth running of daily activities. First is communication technology that presents any elements that assist me in conveying information to other people. Devices such as cell phones, television, and internet accessing gadgets are of great use in my life. They help me send and receive essential information at any time. Secondly, electrical technology is significant in my daily life since it powers the devices that help in making communication, such as computers and mobile phones. The third is the medical technology that promotes my quality of life in various ways. For instance, diagnostics technology assists clinical experts in gaining more essential knowledge for disease identification (Trnka, 2021). Fourth is the transportation technology that makes it easier for me to access physical locations at ease. For example, todays vehicles use advanced technology that promotes effective and safe transportation services. In real life, most beneficial things are accompanied by a disadvantageous part. The technology I use on a daily basis has its negative effects on my life. First, communication technology makes it easier for people to communicate, thus promoting unethical online actions, such as cyberbullying. I have been bullied severally to the extent of destroying my reputation at the workplace. Secondly, devices used in electrical technology utilize harmful electrical waves that risk humans overall health. Medical technology incorporates various diagnostic devices, such as x-ray machines, that are known to emit radioactive energy which is harmful to human tissues. Transportation technology has made it easier for the transporting of harmful products, for example, drugs and weapons for mass destruction. Recently, I had an incident where I was robbed at gunpoint, and I can relate this to the easier access of such weapons by the wrong people.
Impact of Technology on Society
There are various negative effects of the current technology. Communication technology has increased immorality in society due to easier access to inappropriate content. Youngsters have been exposed to immorality, considering that they have an effortless approach to harmful information. Electrical technology has promoted the development of weapons for mass destruction. Starting from hardware weapons to software weapons, the world is now unsafe due to technology. Medical technology has led to the development of unsafe drugs and their consumption results in insanity and even death. Transportation technology facilitates the movement of illegal goods, such as weapons, that are later used for mass killings.
Impact of Technology on Environment
Communication technology is facilitated by the use of various infrastructure that emits harmful forms of energy to the environment. Global warming is attributed to such forms of energy that have influenced the global environment. Electrical technology has led to the emission of dangerous electrical waves that later influence living organisms on land, air, and sea. Medical technology has led to environmental destruction where people search for natural products to be used in drug manufacturing. Transportation technology leads to direct damage to natural resources as people struggle to pave the way for roads, water, and airlines.
Identification of a Systematic Discovery
The scientific discovery I identify is the World Wide Web, also called the internet. The internet was a major breakthrough for the current life because of various reasons. It is the major source of reliable and accessible information used in many aspects of life, among them the education sector. The internet has made it possible to conduct significant research that is essential for critical developments in life. Through the internet, the globe has been extensively connected and has become a significantly smaller area in the virtual context.
Effects of the Scientific Discovery
The internet has resulted in various negative impacts, for example, cybercrimes, access to bad content by teenagers, and inappropriate use of the available online resources. Numerous negative technologies have been developed as a result of the discovery of the internet; for instance, it has been easier to make weapons of mass destruction, communication technology has grown significantly and has become a major threat to the environment, and computing technology has advanced leading to easier development of computer viruses which are a threat to many beneficial systems (Li et al., 2019). The internet has led to immense globalization, industrialization, and major economic benefits all over the world. Positive technologies as a result of the discovery of the internet include the development of diagnostics machines for health use, the development of essential drugs for curing deadly diseases, and advancement in communication as a major feature for business growth. Notably, the discovery of the internet has led to more positive impacts in comparison to the negative impacts.
High-Tech Study Method to Medicine
High tech research strategy for medicine is essential as it promotes the creation of better doctors as they are able to assess new evidence and offer the best care to patients using the current knowledge and technology (Spano et al., 2019). High tech study to medicine acts as an easy path for introducing cybersecurity threats to any medical and health system.
Various Approaches to Medical Treatment
One advantage of using traditional medicine is that there exists surety because the drugs appear naturally thus minimizing incidences of contamination. A disadvantage of traditional medicine is that there exist no evidence-based treatment strategies.
Benefits of Diverse Method to Medical Management
A multicultural approach to medical treatment ensures knowledge diversity thus promoting better healthcare services. The multicultural approaches can be improved through information borrowing making it easier to introduce major developments.
Challenges of Merging Two Different Methods
Combining two different methods in health provision can have several challenges. There is the risk of confusion as the two approaches could present varying pieces of evidence (Yang et al., 2018). In some instances, there could be some kind of competition where one strategy tries to prove more powerful than the other.
Conclusion
Currently, science is applied in every aspect of life and has led to benefits and disadvantages. However, the benefits of science in real life outweigh the disadvantages, and it is important to embrace science as a part of life. Science is the root of all major and beneficial discoveries in the world. For instance, the internet, a major discovery, came to be out of scientific knowledge.
