The concept of the American experience has been built into American culture due to the unique notion that it implied, namely, the idea that success can be attainable in any circumstances. The importance of wit and quick thinking has been praised in numerous folklore pieces and by multiple authors. Mark Twain can be considered the key contributor to the specified idea (Twain). Of all people with whom I am familiar, my cousin appears to fit the described model most accurately since he has shown to be very resourceful and innovative. Having started with very few opportunities, he has managed to reach the top of the social hierarchy, thus demonstrating that wit and innovativeness pave the way to eventual success.
Specifically, my cousin has managed to become a successful team leader within a surprisingly short amount of time. It should be noted that he has never resorted to cheating as illustrated in Mark Twains short story. On the contrary, my cousin has always promoted an ethical approach to decision-making. However, he has always been very resourceful and has managed to respond almost immediately to any scenarios, which has warranted him the reputation of an excellent expert in his field. For example, when recognizing a conflict developing within a team, my cousin would rather use a clever way of distracting the team so that the disagreement could be avoided. Granted that the avoidance strategy is not necessarily the best solution, the ability to adopt innovative and unorthodox solutions to typical problems illustrates the Mark Twain model perfectly. The paradigm of managing issues by manipulating the available resources and changing peoples perspectives helps to enhance continuous development, which aligns with the American model completely.
