Understanding and reflecting on your personal philosophy of teaching can greatly inform your classroom management practices. For this assignment, you will consider and reflect on your personal philosophy of teaching. You will also consider and reflect on your beliefs surrounding effective classroom management pertinent to the early childhood setting.
Format and Length:
After considering and reflecting on your personal philosophy of teaching and your beliefs surrounding effective classroom management, create an infographic that represents how you see your personal philosophy of teaching aligning with your view of effective classroom management; thus, a snapshot. Be sure that your infographic utilizes both images and text and sufficiently describes your philosophy of classroom management.
Questions to guide your creation of the infographic are as follows:
What approach to classroom management do/will you take?
What things will you do, procedures will you put in place, or methods/strategies will you use to ensure that your classroom is a safe, welcoming, motivating, engaging, respectful, culturally sensitive, and trauma sensitive space?
Your infographic can be created using the platform of your choice. Some potential options might include Canva, Venngage, Lucidchart, or Piktochart, although many options are out there! Further, you may build on your Classroom Management Snapshot #1 submitted for Session 2. However, your new/revised snapshot cannot be the same. Your new/revised snapshot should reflect an enhanced understanding of classroom management based on what you have learned throughout this course.

PART 2 (2PAGES)
Reflect on Farmer et al.’s (2019) article that was part of this week’s assigned readings. Consider the questions that you might have about how an educator could effectively foster a welcoming, safe environment for a diverse array of students. Then, identify an early childhood or elementary educator that you could interview. This could be someone you work with currently in the education setting or simply someone you know who works within early childhood or elementary setting. Drawing from Farmer et al’s (2019) article, prepare a list of questions that you might ask to enhance your understanding of how to effectively cultivate a welcoming, safe environment for students. Consider cultural responsiveness and inclusive environments for students who may be racially/ethnically diverse, culturally diverse, or have different abilities (e.g., students with disabilities, gifted, bi- or multi-lingual). Then, after receiving approval from the person you wish to interview, conduct a 10-15 minute interview with them. (*Note you do not need to submit a recording, but you may wish to ask the person you are interviewing for permission to record so that you can better prepare the narrative–described below–for submission.)
After completing the interview, construct a written narrative that:
1) presents the interview questions that you asked,
2) a summary of the responses the educator provided, and
3) a personal reflection on how the interviewee’s responses aligned (or did not align) with the literature reviewed within this course (be sure to cite sources!).
Your written narrative should be between 2 pages in length not counting references page(s). Be sure to use APA formatting for your entire submission.
You can create whatever questions you like, as long as they are in line with the topic.
