Statement of the problem and the research question: Human trafficking prevalence is a crucial problem that has to be addressed as a public health issue on three levels: policy advice, prevention, and reintegration. The research question that the investigator intends to explore is as follows: what are the potential opportunities and limitations of engaging non-governmental organizations in the process of disseminating vital information on the subject of human trafficking prevalence and prevention.
Project design and implementation: The project consists of two parts: community education and community training. First, the team will deploy the educational unit to help local residents recognize the dangers of human trafficking (Moore, 2018). According to McNary (2022), a high percentage of human trafficking cases go unnoticed because of not being reported by witnesses. The next step would be to launch simulations and help people implement their knowledge to resolve real-life issues. Consistent with Lemke (2019), this could be the best way to evaluate the potential of preventing human trafficking while aiding the local task force.
Statement of the importance of the proposed research: This research is important because it is going to push the existing limits of responses to human trafficking prevention through data analysis and community surveys.
Statement of relevant expertise to justify funding: The team possesses pertinent theoretical experience in the field of human trafficking prevention, so it could be a crucial task to communicate with the Miami-Dade task force to carry out the proposed project.
Proposed budget: The overall budget for the initiative is $15.000. The team intends to spend this money to engage in community education initiatives and provide as many as possible residents of Miami-Dade County with relevant information regarding human trafficking detection and prevention. The team also expects to achieve the objective of deploying a practical training course with simulations in order to test the knowledge acquired by community members.
Statement of engaging interested parties and sharing the results of the research: The team intends to engage the human trafficking task force and law enforcement agencies from Miami-Dade County to extend the reach of human trafficking prevention activities. The results of the educational and training programs will be evaluated and published to validate the project for scaling in the case where the effects of the proposal are positive.
