Needs to be 1500-2000 words.
At least 5 academic sources are required, of which no more than 1 can come from the course-assigned readings. course readings do not need to be used, all academic sources can be from outside the course.
Academic sources can include articles from a peer-reviewed journal, a chapter of a text published by a university, or a scholarly press.
Non-academic sources like newspaper articles or blogs can be used but will only count as 0.5 of an academic source, max 2 can be used.
There is 2 parts to this assignment
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DRAFT:
For the draft assignment, the student is required to submit two drafts of their essay, which document the writing process and provide evidence of the essay’s organic development. The drafts are necessary to confirm academic integrity and ensure authentic authorship. These drafts will not be graded independently but will share the same grade as the final essay. The first draft should represent approximately 25-30% of the essay’s completion, while the second draft should reflect around 50-60% completion. Exact percentages are not critical, but the drafts must illustrate significant progress.
Key submission requirements include:
Upload both drafts to the D2L Brightspace dropbox labeled “Draft” as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF (.pdf) files.
Name the files as “First Draft” and “Second Draft.”
Submissions via email will not be accepted.
The drafts should include meaningful content demonstrating how the essay evolved over time. Failure to submit the drafts will result in forfeiting the 5% grade allocation.
The use of Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly AI) is strictly prohibited. Students suspected of using unauthorized AI tools may be asked to provide additional evidence of their writing process.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ESSAY:
