For this activity, you are going to use Excel to organize, analyze, and present data. Be sure to read the directions carefully. View the help video, as needed. This assignment should take you no more than 1 hour.
To get started, open and save the Application Activity 1: Median Incomes Workbook below. In the workbook, there are 4 tabs (aka – sheets):
Tab 1: Directions
Tab 2: State Data
Tab 3: NC County Data
Tab 4: Samples
Answer the questions on tabs 2, 3, and 4. On tabs 2 and 3, use Excel functions and graph tools to help you. There is a help video that will show you how to use Excel, but you can use other websites/programs.
For tab 4, describe how you would gather a sample using that method. For example for a convenience sample, you could say you would mail a survey to the first 300 people listed in the White Pages for the county you live in.
