Personal responsibility to me is very simple. My definition is being in command of all of your actions and learning from your mistakes and successes. People suppose that if you create an error that you have failed, however the way I see it is if you allow failure to be failure then you will not succeeded. By learning from what you did wrong from your own mistakes, you’ll be able to produce success and learn from what you did wrong which will lead to a positive impact in your life.
First, I dont believe anyone was born to fail however you are doing management your own success. I feel everybody desires to boost their self, beginning as early as childhood. For example, kids set goals while not even knowing it. Some kids want to grow up to become a doctor, police officer, firefighter, teacher and so on. I do know when I was just a little boy, I wished to be a soccer player, therefore I set a goal to become a decent soccer player. I remember joining a soccer team and attending my very first soccer practice. We were practicing shots on goal and it took me about 15 shots to finally score on goal. Lets just say that it was a very long day. Did I feel that I was a failure? Absolutely not, because I was enjoying myself having so much and learning how to play soccer, which was my career goal.
The older I got the more I started to realize on how if I wanted to make this my career, I would need to put time and effort into this. There I was sitting on my bed asking myself I how can I get better how could I improve. I couldnt afford to pay for special training sessions nor my family, we were not a super wealthy family. Therefore, instead I would go on YouTube and find videos on how to improve. Every day I came home from school I created a routine that I would associate everyday therefore after I came home from school Id grab a quick bite, change clothes and head to a soccer pitch lucky me the pitch was literally right next to my house so that was a huge benefit for me. On every occasion I hit a foul shot it was not a failure. Instead, I would learn from my mistake and fix what I did wrong. A couple of months go by, and as I take a step onto the pitch by my house, I took my first shot and all I saw was the ball in the back of the net. I smiled so hard realizing that all my hard work was paying off was so big the successes began to take over it was nothing but uphill from there until one day I had a game at an indoor facility. The game starts and thirty seconds in I received a wonderful pass from one of my teammates all alone versus the keeper but I blew it. Then shortly after a rival player got mad at me and decided to shove me to the wall next thing you know I was on the floor rolling in pain. I dont understand what am I doing wrong the only thing my mind was on reminding me that failure was not an option so I had to get up and overcome this. I wasnt about to let failure overcome me. Next thing you know I had another opportunity and this time I finished it. I didnt let failure take over and learnt from my mistakes now thats personal responsibility.
I would always remind myself what my goals are in life. Like where do we want to live, fitness, health and so on. I am still setting goals like planning, organizing, focusing and learning based on where I am at in life. It my personal responsibility to make these goals a reality. Finally, as you can see by reading this paper some things never change whether youre young, early adulthood or later in life. You are always setting goals, managing your time, staying focused and organized and being personally responsible for all these actions. Never stop learning or setting goals because these help us succeed in life and keep us moving forward. Dont ever give up on your dreams and always stay positive.
