When deciding on the computer to purchase for my classwork, I have to consider many different factors: my finances, technical characteristics of the computer, which parameters would benefit me in my work, and many more. There are generally 4 types of computes: desktops, all-in-ones, laptops, and tablets. They each have their advantages and disadvantages that need careful consideration. Desktop computers, for example usually have the high processing power and good temperature control, which makes them well suited for prolonged use. They are also flexible due to the possibility to change the monitor, mouse, and keyboard to the one that best suits your need. Although the aforementioned features are helpful, it is important to realize that these computers are stationary and take up considerable space, making them rather rigid in their setup. Many of the potential features this computer can offer will be unnecessary for me because I just need to complete classwork. A more compact alternative to desktops would be all-in-ones they are prone to overheating and stuttering.

Another popular alternative is the laptop. Combining the abilities of a traditional computer with the mobility of the phone or tablet, the laptop is great for all kinds of situations. The problem only arises from their potential prices, because for a high-end laptop that has long battery life one needs to pay a significant amount of money. The last available option is the tablet, offering the most mobility out of the choices, and having a touch screen that is easy to navigate. While the entry line for using one might be lower than all the other options, it seriously lacks the processing power often required from a computer and often has limited features due to its hardware.

All things considered, I would probably choose a laptop, mostly due to the ability to use it in bed and the wide range of available options in different price ranges. As of now, I have my eyes on the Acer Aspire 3 an affordable laptop that offers the right combination of comfort and accessibility. It has 8Gb of RAM and 250Gb of storage space, which is enough for handling any program I could need and for saving enough data. It has a 156-inch screen that is the right size for my backpack and allows me to see clearly. I think it would be a great choice for me.
