The video demonstrates intermodal transportation in North- West Europe by using two containers. The movie is about a multimodal experience comprising shipping two containers along the East-West corridor in North Europe using two different transport chains. The aim was to highlight the alternatives available to multimodal clients and show the shift towards more sustainable methods of transport. In the video, both containers leave Baton Bull on Thursday at 8.00 pm on different routes. They equip the containers with a track-and-trace beacon which allows simultaneous monitoring of the journey on this device. One goal of the entire process is to reduce the carbon footprint while ensuring the transportation is swift and cost-effective.

One thing that came out clearly as I watched the video is the level of precision and planning that is carried out in containerized transportation. Each container has a schedule that needs to be followed to precision from the point of dispatch. Time is a crucial factor, delays in one area can lead to potential interruptions in another region. Road transport cannot be eliminated from the process because it acts as an important link between air and trucking (Slack, 2017). However, it is prone to accidents and massive traffic jams, making it the least convenient mode.

One lesson that I learned from the video was the importance of planning and precision to maximize intermodal efficiency. In addition, for the entire network to work efficiently, the teams involved should work as a unit. Finally, it is crucial to factor in the carbon footprint when creating the intermodal network.
