Are there any examples from the real world that you find relevant to the course content? If so, how?
Your insights on the topic covered in the unit—what you found most interesting and why; what you agree/disagree with and why, and so on.
Your personal anecdotes or experiences of your family or friends working in teams in real organizations that are relevant to the topic covered in the unit.
Real-world issues and current events relevant to the Managing Teams topics covered in the unit. If possible, post a link to a news article covering the event you are referring to. Don’t just post the link to a news article; connect it to management concepts.
Advertisements, YouTube videos, movies, or TV shows where you observed relevant concepts, such as poor team dynamics, team diversity, team motivation, team effectiveness, etc.
INSTRUCTIONS
To get written participation points, you are expected to do the following:
– Posted a comment on the Discussion Board for each unit.
– Replied to at least one comment from another student in every unit (unless you are the only person who posted on the discussion board)
Your total class participation score will be a combination of your in-class participation and written participation. This score will be posted at the end of the quarter.
Written participation will be graded more strictly than verbal participation in class. Since it is written, you need to demonstrate understanding beyond what is expressed in class. Try to make connections and show me what you are learning.
You have 4 days after each unit is covered to post in that unit’s Discussion forum. After that, the discussion forum will be closed for more comments.
The rubric for participation is as follows:
10 A perfect score cannot be earned in written participation.
8-9 Significantly enhanced the discussion; made multiple points; provided several insights and/or examples relevant to the content. Engaged with comments from other students.
5-7 Somewhat enhanced the discussion; made several points and provided some insights and/or examples relevant to the content.
2-4 Participated in the discussion; made a few minor points that involved invoking content from readings.
1 – Responded to comments from other students but did not post any comments.
