The Nature of the Theory

The feeling of either staying closer or far away with relatives is the initiator of anxiety in a family. The standard of stress will be determined by the present level of eternal pressure and the sensitivities of specific subjects that have been passed from previous generations. If a family is unable to reflect on their reactions to relationships, long-lasting anxiety problems may arise. Chances of chronic apprehension are most in households that react anxiously to predicted emotional demands as members are inseparable from their web of interaction. Alterations in the behavior of an individual are likely to affect the family functions over time (Goldberg & Garcia, 2016). Parental relationships, sibling interactions, and parent-child connections are significant features that influence family functions. To reduce anxiety between relatives or in a particular individual, strategies have been developed to help counselors and clients work together to achieve an anxiety-free society.

Therapists suggest that parents should not pass nervousness to their children, as these young individuals depend on them for information or solutions in any situation. A child seeing a parent panic-stricken could be more stressful than if the guardian fakes victory over the issue. Studies suggest that children born of anxious parents also display uneasiness, a probable blend of cultured behavior or an inherited factor. Each family member should be conscious of other members feelings. For example, knowing that one of their own gets easily offended by stereotypes will make other relatives avoid the behavior when near that individual. Such minor cautions help reduce anxiety and stress in a family because one will not be at peace knowing that they are causing some harm. Therapists have ensured that some members open up about their deep secrets. This has reduced guilty state of mind and the feeling of being a failure in a family. Being free from such situations makes one feel they are valued thus reducing stress and anxiety.

Therapists have a good understanding of the symptoms of apprehension among individuals. This has helped to know when to offer personal support and at what level. Such indications may be irritability, restlessness, and defensiveness. With therapists are around, these people are happy to recognize that someone understands them and so trust develops between the two. It is a relief these victims realize that they do not have to hold on the problem independently. Having someone to talk to and share their fears makes them feel better. Monitoring the daily routine of such persons also helps in reducing the condition. Counselors ensure that these people get enough sleep, eat healthy food, and avoid using any drugs or alcohol. They also foster a communication custom between amongst the individuals to ensure that the clients can express themselves freely without fear. Open discussions aids psychiatrists know the root cause of the problem and how to find solutions.

Some situations are challenging to discuss with ones parents or relatives. Such cases may include teenage trouble in relationships or distress with friends. Therapists ought to be confidential on any information shared with them, and that is why children will quickly open up to these professionals. By the younger generation speaking about their problems will ensure better solutions instead of them taking decisions by themselves. Some parents are strict and too official with their children, making the youngsters live in fear. Therefore, counselors should advise the old generation to ensure that they develop a free relationship with their children by ensuring that the youth can share anything, and can consult whenever they want to make a decision.
