France democratic regime
France struggled for a long to take hold of a democratic regime because its national sovereignty had been lost to two democratic regimes that are the United States and the British. These were very strong countries and fighting them was a big task. To add to that miserly, France fought for its independence during the time of war and this explains why it had to stay for long before taking hold of the democratic regime. Gaulle can be said to be one of the influential leaders that helped France from the period 1940 to 1944 to gain its sovereignty. Frances democratic regime occurred in five republics before it was finally attained. This took place during the first and second world wars. However, Frances civil servants and politicians have played a very crucial role in molding France to become among the prosperous nations in the world (Hauss, 2008).
Gaulle
Gaulle was a French activist during the Second World War. He was among the group that fought when France was falling in 1940 and he also served in the government. Gaulle has made many changes in the industrial state such as economic changes, political, social as well as the countrys institution. He has been able to obtain control over all French colonies from the German Vichy regime in 1944 and fought for the independence of France. In 1959, Gaulle became the president of the French Fifth Republic for ten years. During his tenure as president, Gaulle initiated a new constitution which made life easier and also helped in the introduction of a new currency in 1960 that supported industrial growth and helped to control the inflation rates (Mengin, 1971) He was able to restore the sovereignty of France from the United State and British government. Gaulle can be considered as an influential leader who helped to mold the history of France as well as create an effective industrial state.
French influential elite
French has established an influential elite with roots from the bureaucracy. This influential privileged group is small but well informed and has gone through many years of education. It is an influential group with a great impact not only in France but in many parts of the world. This influential group is rooted in France bureaucracy and has been empowered politically to perform some of the tasks that seem difficult to other people. It has developed war weapons to help France fight with its enemies. This has not only ensured national sovereignty and independence in France but also enabled industrial development. One of these influential elites was Gaulle who was ready to sacrifice his life for the independence of France (Mengin, 1971)
France foreign policy
It has taken many centuries for France to develop its recent foreign policy. This policy is founded on different diplomatic traditions and vital principles. Principles included in the policy include the right to independence, respect for the regulation, self-governing principles, cooperation with other nations, and admiration for human rights. The purpose of this principle is to preserve Frances sovereignty as well as enable cooperation among other nations. France is also working to promote local and intercontinental unity as well as assisting in the European construction (Mengin, 1971). Frances global cooperation is supposed to be in line with the development of aid, promotion of scientific research, and promotion of cultural exchange, for example, the use of French as a common language.
