Reflection

The following principles of the scriptures and religious motives can be applied to the appointed course material. For example, the followers of Christ have always championed Christianity in our campaigns towards convincing the majority of the people to follow in our footsteps and move to different cities and countries. Therefore, for example, Christians have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to work in different spheres within the nation.

The prominent individuals in the Bible were forced into exile far beyond their nations borders. For instance, David was forced to acquire asylum in his attempt to evade King Sauls oppression and brutality. In another case, Daniel was forced to escape his country and owe allegiance to an international government (A biblical view of immigrants, n.d.). According to the Bible, other people also migrated but did so for different reasons (King James Bible, n.d.). For instance, the father of faith, Abraham, obeyed Gods command, and he was forced to flee his country together with his family. Famine also forced them to move as they searched for water and food to eat. The same movement was expressed throughout Abrahams generation because Isaac, Naomi, and Ruth also shifted in a bid to escape famine.

In brief, the Bible reminds the followers of Christ to take care of immigrants as if they were their flesh and blood. In Leviticus 19:33-34, (A biblical view of immigrants, n.d.) Gods command reveals that no one should treat a stranger in an evil manner, and that we shall treat them with the awe and respect that they deserve. Furthermore, this extends to reveal that people ought to take care of their neighbors regardless of their race or nationality. The majority of United States immigrants identify as Christians; hence they relate to the scriptures, as well as the message of God.

The Great Commission Responsibility eliminates the political perspective of immigrants. Leaving immigrants in the hands of the political arena is likely to cause more harm than good since policies are strict. Implementation of biblical principles is, however, challenging since state policies govern the territories of countries. State policies have a great impact on the lives of many individuals and even immigrants. Nevertheless, the Bible also teaches its followers to love their neighbors just like they love themselves.

The followers of Christ have always championed Christianity in their campaigns to convince most people to follow in their footsteps. We also conduct various missionary initiatives, such as printing more bibles to spread the Christian faith. Therefore, Christians have been empowered by the Holy Spirit to work in different spheres within the nation. For instance, proceeding from religious, sacred moments, the Apostle Paul, knowing about the impending martyrdom, exclaimed, Am I not the son of freedom? Am I not an Apostle? (King James Bible, 1 Corinthians 9:1). Therefore, the man drew an equal sign between serving the Deity and choosing freedom. In the same way, it is important now to have an idea of the human freedoms given by the Lord at birth, regardless of any physical characteristics.

In addition, the scriptures can be connected with my life and career plans in one way or another. For example, these principles will be applicable in personal life, everyday aspects, and the work environment. Like Apostle Paul, I would distinguish between the framework beyond which it is not necessary to go and those aspects that are truly part of the system I interact and live. The countrys citizens and national residents are the main sources of development and prosperity for the government and the state (Krutz & Waskiewicz, 2019). Accordingly, an important part of democracy is defending every persons rights and freedoms, regardless of skin color, gender, age, or other physical characteristics (Krutz & Waskiewicz, 2019). Accordingly, it is extremely important and necessary to notice the problems associated with the oppression of opportunities and chances for the countrys inhabitants and fight them together.

Current Events

The actual event related to the topic I chose for the reflection section is The democrats attempt to incorporate immigrations issue in the economic bill. It should be noted that the immigration department of the United States of America has been in the limelight for quite a long period now. The most recent development on immigration is that the Democrats presented a bill before the house to include immigrants who have not been accounted for in their economic bill. The democrats formulated this bill believing that it would help curb the nations menace regarding the social safety net. Furthermore, this recent development has raised a lot of heated debates, both at the house and senate levels (Diaz & Alvarez, 2021). Both houses pledge to offer perfect scrutiny to this matter before it is eventually agreed upon. The parliamentarians have been charged with the mandate/ jurisdiction to go through the proposals before considering immigration.

Moreover, the debate has caused tension because members of the house have been publicly advocating for the same provisions contained in the bill. For instance, they represent Democrats of Newyork, California, and Illinois, who revealed that they would only vouch for the bill if it is inclusive of immigrants (Diaz & Alvarez, 2021). The representative of the Democrats side, Veronica Escobar, revealed that they have total confidence in the house. They need to convince their counterparts, who might have different thoughts regarding the matter presented before the house (Diaz & Alvarez, 2021). If they convince them, they shall bag all the votes they need to pass the bill.

This is the third time that the democrats have presented this type of bill before the house. They believe that all immigrants should be granted state protection and also permits to work. Nevertheless, the Democrats are yet to receive a detailed presentation of the total number of immigrants that have not been accounted for from the Congressional Budget Office. The record is essential before the senate committee. Additionally, the economic bill is estimated to cost up to a tune of 1,75 trillion US Dollars. For the bill to pass, the Democrats only need 50 votes from the senate.

Nevertheless, lawmakers are strict in ensuring that bills that they approve do not exceed the budget. The rule to include undocumented immigrants in the economic bill has been ruled out twice by Macdonough (Diaz & Alvarez, 2021). The Democrats have put out a detailed plan on presenting the issues and facts before the senate based on their Democratic aides plan. Notably, the submission in the democratic aide plan incorporates the legendary parole language. Parole Language offers immigrants who managed to enter the country before January 2011, to acquire state protection only if they meet particular requirements.

In conclusion, this news corresponds to the chosen topic because the immigration department of the United States of America has been in the limelight for quite a long period now. Notably, the most recent development on immigration is that the Democrats presented a bill before the house in an attempt to include immigrants who have not been accounted for in their economic bill. The bill will also shed more light on the new laws about immigration and citizenship in the United States of America.
