1. Introduction (Max Two Paragraphs): Provide an introduction that includes an overview of the topic and why this topic is vital to organizations. The Purpose: Provide a brief discussion informing the reader what the paper will discuss. Identify the themes that emerge from your reading and how this paper will discuss these themes. Conclude with a thesis statement.
2. Criterion 1: Identify the problem you want to investigate in your study, then the research methodology.
3. Criterion 2: Justify the study’s methodology by discussing why it is appropriate to answer the research question(s) and address the problem statement. Relate this to the problem you are looking to investigate in your study.
4. Criterion 3: Justify your choice regarding the problem statement and the variables for which data will be collected. Please remember the following information: When writing your problem statement and determining which variables to collect data on, you must justify your choices. Please refer to the instructional videos on the Dissertation Research Community Page to learn how to develop a proper problem statement and research question. Please note that while you do not need to create your research questions or problem statement, you should explain how your chosen methodology will impact your writing.
5. Conclusion (Max One Paragraph): In the conclusion, restate the purpose of your paper and reaffirm your thesis statement. Summarize the essential findings and their implications when the articles are considered collective. What is the overarching message of the group articles? Remember to include citations within each paragraph.
Note: For an example of methodology writing, see Chapter 3 in the sample dissertations.
Please use transitions, with multiple authors! Ex: “Recognizing their own biases allows researchers to better capture participants’ experiences, aligning with the goal of qualitative research to present nuanced human perspectives (Ugwu, Chinyere & Eze, 2023; Provin et al., 2024; Mohajan, 2018). ”
Utilize sentence starters, such as those that I have attached in the file. Utilize sources from 2020 to present. Lastly, do not end a sentence with a cited source. it must be a beginning sentence, transition sentences, and a concluding sentence.
