The purpose of this assignment is to learn more about the victim’s experience and better understand why victims were chosen by the perpetrator.
Choose a victim who has been highlighted in the news within the last 100 years. Conduct research on the case and what happened to the victim. Using two to three scholarly sources, create an 10-12-slide presentation that includes the following:
Summarize the case.
Describe specific victimology theories that fit the scenario of the person chosen.
Describe what protections and/or legal resources were available for the victim.
Discuss the conditions that may have existed or risk factors (i.e., environment, behavior) that led to the person chosen becoming a victim.
Evaluate the impact of crime on the victim and the community.
Describe the resources the victim is using or has used. If they did not use a specific resource for victims, explain your recommendation for the victim.
Title slide and reference slide are not included in the slide count. Include speaker notes below each content-related slide that represent what would be said if giving the presentation in person. Expand upon the information included in the slide and do not simply restate it. Please ensure the speaker notes include a minimum of 75-100 words.
