Introduction
Nowadays, there are many different models of leadership, and one of the most common is the concept of transformational leadership. The leader-reformer motivates followers by increasing their awareness of the importance of combining their interests with a common goal and creating an atmosphere of trust. The transformational leadership model assumes that the leader and followers have certain behaviors that are suitable for solving the problem in a crisis (Blane 30). That is why it is important to analyze the similarity of this model with the features of Christs approach.
Transformational Leadership in Christs Approach
Christs view of leadership is unequivocally expressed in what is called leadership in service, which is the desire to enrich and improve the lives of guided people through unselfish service. This basic model of such leadership involves true humility, serving others, and leading them to become servants as well (Collier and Williams 6). Hence, there are some parallels with transformational leadership. Firstly, in this model, it is recognized as necessary for the leader to influence followers through their involvement in management, to be a part of the group or organization. Christ performed what he taught people, and, therefore, they believed and followed him. Secondly, a transformational leader develops an atmosphere of trust and a strong interdependence between him and his followers. Christ did practically the same by uniting people and helping them solve their problems.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that Christs leadership has many features, which inherent in the transformational model. For instance, a leader reformer, like Christ, teaches his followers, explaining the fundamental values and foundations of the worldview. Moreover, he believes in what he says, and he is part of this community. Besides, both Christ and a transformational leader try to bring people together to achieve goals.
